Understanding Your NDIS Funding for Cleaning Support — Simple, Clear & Transparent

We Make NDIS Pricing Easy to Understand

Navigating NDIS funding can feel overwhelming — but it doesn’t have to be! At Cleaning Corp, we believe every participant deserves to fully understand how their funding works, what they’re entitled to, and how to get the most out of their NDIS plan. This guide is here to walk you through everything you need to know about NDIS cleaning pricing and funding in plain, friendly language.

How Is NDIS Cleaning Funded?

NDIS cleaning services are funded under your Core Supports budget, specifically within the Assistance with Daily Life category. This funding is designed to help participants with everyday tasks — including keeping their home clean, safe, and hygienic — when their disability makes it difficult to do so independently.
The specific support item for cleaning services is:
House Cleaning and Other Household Activities Category: Assistance with Daily Life Registration Group: Household Tasks
To access NDIS-funded cleaning, your plan must include an allocation under this support item. If you’re unsure whether your plan includes this, don’t worry — our friendly team can help you check!

Please note: Many NDIS cleaning providers have a minimum booking time of 2 hours to allow enough time to complete tasks properly and to make scheduling more efficient. A typical cleaning session at Cleaning Corp runs between 1 to 3 hours, depending on the size of your home and the services required.

What Affects the Total Cost of Your Clean?

While the hourly rate is set by the NDIS, the total cost of each cleaning session can vary. Here are the main factors that influence your overall spend:

    • Size of Your Home: Larger homes take longer to clean. A one-bedroom apartment will naturally take less time than a four-bedroom house.
    • Frequency of Services How often you need cleaning support will affect your overall weekly or monthly budget allocation. Whether you need weekly, fortnightly, or monthly cleans, we’ll work with you to plan around your funding.
    • Type of Cleaning Required Light cleaning includes vacuuming, mopping, bathroom sanitisation, and kitchen maintenance, while deep cleans, specialized services, or hoarder cleaning may require additional time and resources.
    • Your Location in Sydney Sydney is a major metro area with higher operational and travel costs. However, NDIS pricing caps ensure participants are not charged above approved limits. Travel charges may apply depending on your location.
    • Time of Service Standard weekday daytime sessions attract the base rate. Evening, weekend, or public holiday sessions may be charged at a higher rate in line with NDIS guidelines.

    Understanding Your NDIS Plan Type

The way you manage your NDIS funding affects how you pay for cleaning services. There are three plan management types, and Cleaning Corp works with all of them!
    NDIS Cleaning Services in Sydney

    1.Self-Managed
If you self-manage your NDIS funding, you have the most flexibility. You can choose any cleaning provider — registered or unregistered — and pay them directly from your NDIS funds. You’re responsible for keeping records and invoices.
With Cleaning Corp: We provide clear, detailed invoices that make self-managed claiming simple and stress-free.

    2. Plan-Managed
If you have a Plan Manager, they handle the financial side of things on your behalf. You choose your provider, we send the invoice to your Plan Manager, and they pay it directly from your NDIS budget. You don’t have to handle any of the paperwork!
With Cleaning Corp: We work directly with your Plan Manager to make the process seamless. Just connect us, and we’ll take care of the rest.

    3. NDIA-Managed (Agency-Managed)
If the NDIA manages your funding, you can only use NDIS-registered providers — and that’s exactly what Cleaning Corp is! We bill the NDIA directly through the myplace portal, so you don’t need to do anything at all.
With Cleaning Corp: As a government-certified registered NDIS provider, we handle all billing and claiming on your behalf. It couldn’t be simpler.

What Is NOT Covered by NDIS Cleaning Funding?

Here are our top friendly tips to help you get the best value from your NDIS cleaning funding:

      1. Be clear about your needs The more specific you are about what you need cleaned and how often, the easier it is for us to create a plan that fits perfectly within your budget.

      2. Choose regular scheduled cleans Booking consistent weekly or fortnightly cleans helps maintain your home more efficiently — and often takes less time than irregular one-off cleans.

      3. Combine services smartly Instead of separate sessions for different tasks, we can combine general cleaning, laundry, and bathroom sanitisation into one visit to maximise your funding.

      4. Review your plan regularly Your needs may change. We recommend reviewing your cleaning plan whenever your NDIS plan is reviewed to ensure your funding still matches your requirements.

      5. Ask us for help Our team understands NDIS funding inside and out. If you’re unsure about anything — just ask! We’re always happy to help you navigate your plan with confidence.
