Community Involvement and Disability Support Initiatives
Going Beyond the Clean — How Cleaning Corp Gives Back to the Disability Community Across Sydney
Our Commitment Extends Beyond Your Front Door
At Cleaning Corp, we have always believed that being a truly great NDIS provider means more than delivering excellent cleaning services. It means being an active, engaged, and genuinely committed member of the broader disability community — contributing to a more inclusive, supportive, and aware society for every person living with disability in Sydney and beyond.
From the day Cleaning Corp was founded, community involvement and disability advocacy have been woven into the fabric of who we are. We are not a company that talks about values on a website and then operates in isolation from the community it serves. We are out there — partnering with organisations, supporting initiatives, volunteering our time, raising awareness, and doing everything we can to make a real and lasting difference beyond the homes we clean every day. This page tells the story of that commitment. We hope it gives you a deeper understanding of who Cleaning Corp is, what we stand for, and why we are proud to be a part of the Sydney disability community in every sense of the word.
Our Community Philosophy
Everything Cleaning Corp does in the community is guided by a simple but deeply held belief — that people living with disability deserve not just adequate support, but genuine opportunity, genuine inclusion, and genuine respect in every area of their lives.
A clean home is one piece of that picture. But true independence, true dignity, and true quality of life require a community that understands disability, embraces inclusion, and actively works to remove the barriers that prevent people from living their fullest lives. That is the community we are working to help build — one partnership, one initiative, one conversation at a time. We do not engage with the community because it is good for our reputation. We do it because it is the right thing to do, and because we genuinely care about the people we serve and the broader world they live in.

Our Community Partnerships
Partnership with Sydney Disability Connect
Sydney Disability Connect is a not-for-profit organisation based in Western Sydney that provides information, referral, and advocacy services to people living with disability and their families across the greater Sydney region. Cleaning Corp has been a proud community partner of Sydney Disability Connect for the past three years.
Through this partnership, we provide regular in-kind support to the organisation including complimentary cleaning services for their community resource centre, financial contributions to support their advocacy programs, and participation in their annual disability expo where our team members are on hand to answer questions, provide information about NDIS cleaning funding, and connect participants with the support they need.
We also work closely with Sydney Disability Connect’s support coordination team, who refer participants to Cleaning Corp when cleaning support is identified as a need. This relationship has connected hundreds of participants with cleaning support they may not otherwise have known they were entitled to access.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to community, inclusion, and the genuine empowerment of people living with disability across Sydney.
Partnership with Mental Health Carers Australia
Given the significant proportion of our participants who live with mental health conditions, Cleaning Corp has developed a strong and meaningful partnership with Mental Health Carers Australia — the national peak body representing carers of people living with mental illness.
Through this partnership, we have worked with Mental Health Carers Australia to develop resources specifically for carers who are trying to access cleaning support for a family member or loved one living with a mental health condition. We participate in their annual events and forums, contribute to their educational materials, and provide a dedicated point of contact within our team for carers seeking guidance on NDIS cleaning support for participants with mental health-related disabilities.
This partnership reflects our belief that mental health conditions are just as valid a basis for NDIS cleaning support as physical disabilities, and our commitment to ensuring that participants living with mental illness receive the same level of care, respect, and professional service as every other participant we support.
Partnership with the Down Syndrome Association of NSW
Cleaning Corp is a proud community supporter of the Down Syndrome Association of NSW, an organisation dedicated to supporting individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and the broader community to live full and inclusive lives.
Our partnership with the Down Syndrome Association of NSW includes financial contributions to their community programs, participation in their annual awareness events, and the provision of complimentary cleaning support for participants referred through the association who are transitioning into independent living arrangements for the first time.
We are particularly passionate about this partnership because we have seen first-hand, through our own participant work, how transformative cleaning support can be for individuals with Down syndrome who are working toward greater independence. Keeping a clean, organised, and hygienic home is a fundamental life skill and a genuine marker of independence — and we are proud to support the Down Syndrome Association of NSW in its work to make independent living a reality for more people.
Partnership with Carers NSW
Carers NSW is the peak body representing the more than 850,000 unpaid carers across New South Wales — family members, friends, and community members who provide ongoing care and support to people living with disability, chronic illness, mental health conditions, and other complex needs.
Cleaning Corp became a community partner of Carers NSW after recognising that informal carers are one of the most overlooked and undervalued groups in the entire disability support ecosystem. Many of the participants we serve are supported by unpaid family carers who carry an enormous physical, emotional, and practical burden. When we provide cleaning support to a participant, we are also, in many cases, providing relief to the carer who was previously managing or attempting to manage those tasks alongside their other caring responsibilities.
Through our partnership with Carers NSW, we participate in Carers Week events across Sydney each year, provide information and resources to carers about NDIS cleaning entitlements, and offer a dedicated carer support consultation service for families who want help navigating NDIS cleaning funding on behalf of their loved ones.
We are deeply respectful of the work that unpaid carers do every day, and we are committed to supporting them in every way we can.
Partnership with Independent Living Assessment Sydney
Independent Living Assessment Sydney is a local organisation that provides occupational therapy, assistive technology, and independent living assessments for NDIS participants across the Sydney region. Cleaning Corp has developed a close working relationship with their team of occupational therapists, who frequently identify cleaning support as a key component of the independent living plans they develop for participants.
Through this partnership, we work collaboratively with occupational therapists to ensure that our cleaning services align with and actively support the independent living goals identified in each participant’s assessment. We attend joint planning meetings where appropriate, provide documentation and outcome reports that occupational therapists can use in NDIS plan reviews, and participate in the organisation’s community education events for participants and their families.
This partnership represents our commitment to being a genuinely integrated and collaborative part of the broader NDIS support ecosystem rather than operating in isolation from the other professionals and services that contribute to participant outcomes.
Staff Volunteering and Community Events
The Cleaning Corp Community Day
Once a year, Cleaning Corp closes its regular operations for a full day and dedicates the entire team to a Community Day — a day of volunteering, giving back, and strengthening our connection to the disability community we serve.
On Community Day, our team members volunteer their time and skills to provide complimentary cleaning services to a selected group of NDIS participants who are in genuine need but who, for a variety of reasons, do not currently have cleaning support in their NDIS plan. These participants are nominated by our community partners and selected based on need, with priority given to those living in the most challenging home environments.
In addition to the cleaning services provided, Community Day also includes a community barbecue and gathering at a local park where participants, their families, carers, and supporters are invited to come together, share stories, and connect with each other and with the Cleaning Corp team in an informal and welcoming setting.
Community Day has become one of the most meaningful events in the Cleaning Corp calendar — a day that reminds every member of our team why we do what we do, and that reinforces the genuine relationships and sense of community that sit at the heart of our organisation.
Disability Royal Commission Community Forums
Following the findings and recommendations of the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability, Cleaning Corp has been actively involved in community forums and discussions focused on the implementation of the Royal Commission’s recommendations across the disability services sector.
Our founder Daniel Hartley has participated as a panelist and speaker at several community forums held across Sydney, speaking to the role that NDIS cleaning providers can play in upholding participant safety, dignity, and rights, and advocating for higher standards of training, accountability, and participant-centered practice across the broader cleaning and support services industry.
We believe that every NDIS provider — regardless of the nature of the services they deliver — has a responsibility to understand and uphold the rights of the participants they serve, and to actively contribute to a safer, more accountable, and more respectful disability services sector.
International Day of People with Disability
Each year on 3 December, Cleaning Corp marks the International Day of People with Disability by hosting and participating in a range of community events and awareness activities across Sydney.
In previous years, these activities have included a community morning tea event for participants and their families at a Sydney community centre, social media awareness campaigns highlighting the stories and achievements of NDIS participants with their consent, a staff reflection and professional development day focused on disability awareness and inclusive practice, and financial contributions to disability-focused charities and community organisations.
International Day of People with Disability is an important moment in our calendar — a day to pause, reflect, celebrate the people we have the privilege of serving, and recommit ourselves to the values that guide everything we do.
National Carers Week Participation
Every October during National Carers Week, Cleaning Corp participates in events and activities across Sydney to recognise, celebrate, and support the extraordinary contribution of unpaid carers in our community.
Our participation includes staff volunteering at Carers NSW community events across Western and Southern Sydney, the distribution of information resources to carers about NDIS cleaning entitlements and how to access support for their loved ones, social media campaigns celebrating the stories of carers with whom we work and who have given their permission to share their experiences, and direct outreach to carer support groups across Sydney to offer free consultations about NDIS cleaning funding.
We recognise that carers are often the invisible backbone of the NDIS — and we are committed to making sure they know that Cleaning Corp sees them, values them, and is here to support them in every way we can.
Free and Discounted Services for the Community
The Cleaning Corp Hardship Support Program
Cleaning Corp operates a Hardship Support Program designed to provide temporary complimentary or discounted cleaning services to NDIS participants who find themselves in genuine financial hardship or in circumstances where their NDIS funding has temporarily lapsed, been delayed, or is under review.
We recognise that gaps in NDIS funding can happen for a variety of reasons — plan reviews that take longer than expected, changes in circumstances, administrative delays, or transitions between plan management types. During these gaps, participants should not have to go without the cleaning support their health and safety depends on.
Through the Hardship Support Program, participants referred by our community partners or Support Coordinators can access up to four weeks of complimentary cleaning services while their funding situation is being resolved. Applications are assessed on a case-by-case basis with a focus on genuine need and participant wellbeing.
The program is funded through a dedicated portion of Cleaning Corp’s annual revenue that our founder Daniel committed to the initiative from the company’s early days. It is a reflection of our belief that commercial success and genuine community commitment are not mutually exclusive — and that a business built on serving vulnerable people has a particular responsibility to look after those members of its community who need extra support.
The New Participant Welcome Clean Initiative
For new NDIS participants who are accessing cleaning support for the very first time, Cleaning Corp offers a complimentary extended initial consultation and home assessment — valued at no cost to the participant — to ensure their cleaning plan is as thorough, tailored, and effective as possible from the very first visit.
This initiative was introduced after our team recognised that new participants often feel uncertain, anxious, or overwhelmed when accessing cleaning support for the first time. By investing additional time and care in the initial assessment and consultation process at no cost, we help new participants feel genuinely welcomed, fully informed, and completely comfortable before their first cleaning service begins.
We believe that starting the right way makes all the difference — and that every participant deserves a first experience with cleaning support that gives them complete confidence and reassurance.
Supported Transition to Independent Living Program
In partnership with several supported accommodation providers across Sydney, Cleaning Corp operates a Supported Transition to Independent Living Program for NDIS participants who are transitioning from supported accommodation into independent living for the first time.
Participants entering the program receive a complimentary initial deep clean of their new home before they move in, a complimentary first regular cleaning visit after they have settled in, a dedicated onboarding consultation with a member of our client services team to help them understand their NDIS cleaning entitlements and set up their ongoing cleaning plan, and a connection to our participant support resources to help them navigate independent living with confidence.
The program reflects our understanding that the transition to independent living is one of the most significant and potentially vulnerable moments in an NDIS participant’s journey — and that the right support at the right moment can make all the difference to a successful, confident, and sustainable transition.
Sponsorships and Fundraising
Annual Fundraising Campaign for Disability Advocacy
Each year, Cleaning Corp runs an internal fundraising campaign that invites team members, participants, and members of the broader community to contribute to a selected disability advocacy organisation. The organisation selected each year is chosen through a team vote, ensuring that the entire Cleaning Corp team has a voice in the decision.
Past beneficiaries of the annual fundraising campaign have included People with Disability Australia, a national disability rights and advocacy organisation, the Disability Trust, which supports people with disability to live the life they choose across New South Wales, and Inclusion Australia, the national peak body for people with intellectual disability and their families.
Cleaning Corp matches all staff and community donations raised through the annual campaign dollar for dollar, effectively doubling the impact of every contribution made.
The annual fundraising campaign is one of the ways we demonstrate that our commitment to the disability community extends beyond the services we deliver and the partnerships we maintain — and that we are willing to put our resources behind the organisations doing the vital work of advocacy, rights protection, and systemic change.
Sponsor of the Annual Sydney NDIS Participant Expo
Cleaning Corp is an annual sponsor and active participant in the Sydney NDIS Participant Expo — a large community event that brings together NDIS participants, their families, carers, Support Coordinators, and service providers from across the greater Sydney region.
The expo provides participants and their families with the opportunity to meet and speak directly with a wide range of NDIS-registered providers, learn about the supports and services available to them under their NDIS plan, attend information sessions and workshops on key NDIS topics, and connect with other participants and community members in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Cleaning Corp attends the expo with a dedicated information stand staffed by members of our client services and operations team, who are on hand to answer questions about NDIS cleaning funding, explain our services, and help participants understand how to access cleaning support through their plan. We also host a free information session at each expo covering NDIS cleaning entitlements and the process of setting up cleaning support — a session that is consistently one of the most well-attended at the event.
Our involvement in the expo is not primarily a commercial activity. It is an opportunity to connect with the community we serve, share knowledge freely, and contribute to an event that genuinely empowers participants to understand and make the most of their NDIS plans.

A Final Word from Our Founder
“When I started Cleaning Corp, I made a promise to myself that this company would always be about more than just business. The disability community gave us our purpose, and it is only right that we give back to it in every way we can.
Every partnership we have built, every event we have participated in, every dollar we have raised, and every hour our team has volunteered represents our commitment to that promise. We are proud of what we have contributed so far — and we are equally aware that there is so much more to be done.
The disability community in Sydney is full of extraordinary people — participants, carers, advocates, and support professionals who give everything they have every single day. It is a privilege to be a part of that community, and a responsibility we take very seriously.
We will keep showing up, keep giving back, and keep working toward a more inclusive, more supportive, and more compassionate community for every person living with disability in Sydney. That is a promise.”
